Safeguarding

Keeping children safe is your business, our business, it’s everyone’s business.

The school safeguarding Local Academy Committee Member is Mrs G Sild.

Our Social Inclusion Officer and one of our Designated Safeguarding Leaders is Miss Illingworth. She can be contacted through phoning the school office on 01429 273663 (option 1) or by e-mail missillingworth@brougham.hartelpool.sch.uk

Mrs Sild and Miss Illingworth work closely with Mrs Greenan and Mrs Kelly who are also Designated Safeguarding Leaders to ensure that all staff at Brougham Primary School work together to safeguard all children and provide support to all families.

Our safeguarding policies are based on the statutory government guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education (2020 updated January 2021) and all policies are reviewed regularly.

Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass is a police and education early information sharing partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support for children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. Information is shared by the police with a school’s trained Key Adult (DSL) prior to the start of the next school day after officers have attended a domestic abuse incident thus enabling appropriate support to be given, dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child

For more information, visit the Operation Encompass website.

If you have concerns that a child or young person is being abused or neglected, or that they may be at risk of harm, you should contact one of the following services.
